The
Liqui-Trans is capable of transferring liquid manure very long distances
with low power requirements. The hydraulic power unit is available in
5HP or 7.5HP models, which makes the Liqui-Trans an excellent choice for
use with single phase electricity or anywhere that power availability
may be limited.
There
are two models of Liqui-Trans pump available: Standard Duty is equipped
with a 3” diameter hydraulic cylinder and the Heavy Duty, which is
equipped with a 4” hydraulic cylinder. Both models use a heavy gauge 20”
diameter stainless steel pumping cylinder and urethane-edged flapper
doors.
Liqui-Trans pumps may be
mounted in a dry pit beside a reception pit with a suction tube through
the wall, or at floor level with a suction downspout extending down into
the reception pit. Depending on the distance to the storage, the output
is either 6” or 8” diameter PVC pipe. This small diameter pipe makes
installation very economical.
Liqui-Trans pumps are intended
for use only in very liquid manure (maximum 10% solids) with no long
bedding. Manure in the reception pit may be preconditioned to meet these
requirements by adding waste water and/or by homogenizing if required.
The Jamesway Electric Prop Agitator is commonly used with the Liqui-Trans
to precondition the manure.
Sand bedding is not
recommended with the Liqui-Trans system. The high water content required
in the manure will cause sand to settle in the transfer pipe and rapidly
block the pipe. The exception is when the Liqui-Trans is used to lift
material into a separator system. Our representative will review
your plan and recommend a self-cleaning pipe configuration for these
systems.
Air Risers may be installed
along the length of the pipe. This kit includes a 6” diameter pipe that
is attached in a Y-joint to the manure pipe and runs vertically to end
above ground level. Compressed air may then be used to rapidly push
manure forward and scour the pipe clean. Air risers are recommended with
on any system with a long pipe to allow easy access in case of line
plugging.

review and recommendations for systems exceeding 1000 feet of pipe, or
systems with extreme vertical lift.
